Jeremy & Erica: Grand Rapids Couples and Engagement Photographer

Refreshing. Radiating Love. Authentic. Free-spirited.

She holds his pinky. He holds her heart.

Meet Jeremy.  Laid back. Hilarious. Leader. Compassionate. Gifted musician.

Meet Erica. Loving. Free-spirited. Listener. Thrifty. Energetic.

Together. Compassionately Hilarious. Free-spirited Leaders. Brave & Authentic.

Jeremy & Erica have this incredible chemistry in their “usness” that radiates joy to the rest of the world.

Jeremy was soo nervous on their first date and rightly so… Erica is a beautiful, talented, and spunky woman with a passion for life that is simply contagious. Jeremy carries his own strength in his convictions, sense of humor, and compassion for others that attracted Erica to him from Day one. Together, they are so  refreshing in a culture that seems to encourage and reward selfishness.

It’s been a little over a year since they were driving to 7-11 for free slurpies and their car flipped. They weren’t wearing seatbelts. Erica re-tells the story about how they didn’t have a broken bone and hardly a scratch… they could’ve died. And yet, here they are together – in downtown Grand Rapids – preparing to move across the country for a new job, new ministry, and new season of life as a couple.

Somewhere between the moving boxes and the moving van, we were able to spend an hour together in downtown Grand Rapids — capturing their us-ness.

While I LOVE engagement sessions – the anticipation, the excitement, the jitters, the sometimes awkward inbetween, there is something so powerful about a session with a couple who has been married for a while and has already walked through some significant ups and downs as a couple. There is a new depth and comfort to the love that I have seen in the way a couple talks about each other or holds hands as they walk down a set of steps – whether that’s depth that comes from a cross-country move, disappointment over jobs, struggles through parenthood, or in Jeremy and Erica’s marriage — a brush with death and consequently, a deeper gratitude for life.

Thank you Erica and Jeremy for sharing your ‘us-ness’ with me on a beautiful morning in downtown Grand Rapids. I had a blast getting to know you more! I look forward to hearing how God uses you on the East Coast.

Everyone else, check out Jeremy’s new album “I Receive Your Love” that just came out a few weeks ago!

Glenda - This post was absolutely gorgeous! Not just because I love these people to pieces, but because you captured them in such a marvelous light and shared the core of who they are. BEAUTIFUL JOB!
